In the previous step we removed the side panel and PCI slot covers. In this step we will actually plug the second graphics card into the PCI-E graphics card slot of your mainboard. I want to note here that you must have a SLI compatible motherboard to run SLI. For more information on SLI compatible components check out SLI Zone.

I also want to note here that these 7600 GS graphics cards are passively cooled and require no six pin power connectors to operate. Faster cards that require more power will most likely require 6-pin power connectors and an SLI certified power supply. In this tutorial we simply plug the second graphics card into its PCI-E slot and secure the card to the chassis so it is firmly held in place.

The method that you use to secure your graphics card to the chassis will depend on the type of PC case you are using. See your chassis owners manual for more information on securing the graphics card to the chassis.
