That means a full 100% of the time frame rates were above 40 FPS. As always, for the final FEAR run I turned every setting to high and turned the resolution up to 1280 x 960 and recorded a minimum frame rate of 37 FPS, an average frame rate of 57 FPS and a maximum frame rate of 108 FPS. At these settings 25% of the time the frame rates were 25-45 FPS and 75% of the time frame rates were greater than 40 FPS.
Quake 4
The final test I ran on the XFX GeForce 7950 GT Extreme was some benchmark runs with Quake 4 using the Guru3D Quake 4 benchmark utility. To start out I choose the following settings:
- Quality: High
- Aspect Ratio: 16:9
- AA: 8x
- AF: 4x
- SMP: Enabled
- Screen Resolution: 1024 x 768
Final Thoughts on the XFX GeForce 7950 GT Extreme
As far as mid range graphics cards go, the XFX GeForce 7950 GT Extreme is a great card. It performs well and you can get one just like it for $329.99 giving it great bang for the buck. The XFX GeForce 7950 GT Extreme soundly beats the ATI X1900 XT that scored only 4761 3DMarks (on an FX-60 CPU). Gamers looking for a moderately priced graphics card for gaming duties or for use in a media center PC should put the XFX GeForce 7950 GT Extreme on their short list. Thanks to the silent passive cooling system and the single slot design, the XFX GeForce 7950 GT Extreme is an excellent card for many different uses.
