When it comes to affordability, getting a 2.1 speaker system made by Sony for $50 is a good deal. But the low price does not mean low quality for the Sony SRSD21X system. It offers crisp, clear, full-ranging sound.
At a Glance
Pros
- Full range sound
- Compact design
- Switches on satellite speaker
- Affordable
Cons
- Low volume
- No remote or adjustments for bass or trebel
Features
The sound from these speakers rivals that of more expensive 2.1 sets, and has the brand backing of Sony behind it. It puts out a full-range of sounds that will improve your multimedia PC experience.
The only true drawback is that the sound is not as far-reaching as some may like. It can be a little tinny at low volumes, and a bit faint from a distance.
Performance
The speakers perform well for their price. The sound range is good, but has slight bass distortion when listening to some types of music. It's a good idea to tweak your EQ a little bit if you listen to a lot of pounding music. Ironically, however, unlike other, more expensive speaker sets, the mid-range sounds are crisp and clear at pretty much any volume.
