It has a simple set-up that doesn't cause a lot of fuss with a multitude of speakers, but still provides impressive, THX-Certified sound quality. • THX Sound Certification

The guys over at THX know a thing or two when it comes to sound, and just saying that these speakers are THX certified should really say it all. THX doesn't hand out certification lightly, and it's a good way to spot high-quality speaker systems in any price range, including those available for under $100 like the Logitech Z-2300.

The sounds is thick, clear, and detailed, and there is no distortion even at its higher volumes. It provides a true high quality sound for any application, including gaming, movies, and music.

Performance

The system is easy enough to set up -- just basically plug it in and you're ready to go, with this 2.1 system rivaling more difficult 5.1 systems in terms of performance. You do, however, need a good quality sound card with plenty of power and capability for the system to really shine; otherwise, you may be mildly disappointed by its "averageness" without ever even realizing the system's full capability.

Once you do start using the system, you will notice a distinct improvement in the sound quality of all you do on your computer. And while the Logitech Z-2300 system does hit those far-reaching highs and ultra lows without any distortion, the mid-range sounds are not as clear -- it can get a little muddy in the middle, though only seasoned audiophiles will even notice it.
