Description
Guide Review - OCZ Secure Digital Dual Memory CardUnlike some cards of this type on the market, OCZs does not fold but rather a removable cover conceals the USB connector portion of the SD card. OCZs dual memory cards at the same exact size as a standard as the card even though they incorporate the addition of the USB connector allowing you to forgo the use of a card reader and plug directly into an available USB port on your computer. The OCZ Secure Digital Dual Memory Card requires no additional drivers to be recognized by your computer and appears to Windows as a standard removable drive. You can write any type of files you wish to the OCZ Secure Digital Dual Memory Card from images to documents and applications. To be read by your camera, PDA or PMP device the files saved to the OCZ Secure Digital Dual Memory Card will have to be compatible with the device. The full USB 2.0 speeds that the OCZ card is capable of will likely be faster than some card readers on the current market. The card I tested was an 80x card and writes fast enough that I can use my Canon Powershot S2 IS and take continuous shots as fast as I can push the shutter button for as long as my batteries last. After I take all the shots I want I can either use the standard SD card reader I already have or remove the little cover that conceals the USB connector and directly connect to my PC to retrieve the images stored on the card. OCZ also backs the OCZ Secure Digital Dual Memory Card with its lifetime warranty. In addition to the 2GB 80 x card I reviewed here, OCZ also makes an 80x card in 1GB capacity as well as both 1GB and 2GB cards in 133x capacities. To protect important images and files on the cards from being accidentally deleted a write protect switch is also built into the OCZ Secure Digital Dual Memory Card. Suggested Reading |
