If you’re a frequent traveler, you’re going to need a great wireless mouse. Let’s face it -- using that laptop touchpad can be uncomfortable and frustrating if you’re accustomed to using a mouse. Travel mice aren’t always just scaled-down versions of full-sized mice (although they almost always have smaller footprints). They also usually come with other features that can be crucial to a road warrior. Here are a few of our favorite selections.
Microsoft Arc Mouse
The Microsoft Arc Mouse is no ordinary-looking wireless mouse. The bottom third of folds beneath the mouse, and it comes with the all-important wireless receiver placeholder – because a wireless mouse is useless without its receiver. It promises a six-month battery life, and it’s small enough to throw into any carry-on without taking up much space.
Logitech Anywhere MX
Now, while the Logitech Anywhere MX mouse lacks that wireless receiver placeholder, it does have a nano receiver, which means you can’t theoretically leave it in your laptop all the time. It also features the company’s Darkfield Laser Tracking Technology, which means it can be used on nearly any surface, including marble and glass. If you find yourself mousing in strange places (airport carpet, anyone?), this would a great choice.

Saitek Eclipse Touch Mouse
This Eclipse Touch Mouse from Saitek gets an asterisk as a travel mouse because it’s really only a great travel mouse if you have built-in Bluetooth in your laptop. If you don’t, you’re going to need to pick up an external Bluetooth receiver, and there is no placeholder for one on the Eclipse. But if you’re toting that built-in Bluetooth, you’ll be good to go with this sleek, slim mouse that replaces the scroll wheel with a touch pad.
