The Bottom Line

The Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 7000 is a very good mouse for users accustomed to using standard mice with 800 dpi sensitivity. If you are accustomed to mice with higher sensitivity you may find the Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 7000 lacking. Otherwise the Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 7000 is very accurate, comfortable to use and has good range and battery life.

Guide Review - Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 7000 Review

The Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 7000 includes a rechargeable AAA battery and a charging base that you sit the mouse on when not in use. In a pinch the mouse can also be powered by a standard AAA battery. Wireless connectivity is with 2.4GHz technology and a USB receiver is included. An LED light on the mouse tells you when charging is needed.

While the Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 7000 is comfortable to use, it is a right hand only design. On the left side of the mouse is a pair of keys mapped to forward and backward when web browsing by default. The buttons are positioned well and are easy to reach when needed, but not located where they can be hit by mistake.

Sensitivity is 800 dpi and the Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 7000 is very accurate at standard settings. Users looking for faster cursor movement can accelerate the pointer via the driver software, but you lose accuracy when you do this. The buttons can be programmed within the software to other commands as well. The mouse also features a Flip 3D button and magnifier and a 4-way scroll wheel. Wireless range is very good making this a good mouse if you want something full size for your HTPC system that has the range to operate from across the room.
