Features of the Func Industries Surface 1030 Archetype Mouse pad
The most important feature of the surface 1030 is the double sided design. One side of the Surface 1030 is more textured to give more tactile feedback making it easier to feel where your mouse is and providing better accuracy. The other side of the Func Surface 1030 is much smoother allowing your mouse to glide faster across the surface.
The frame of the Surface 1030 Archetype Mouse pad is black plastic that has a satiny suede finish that does not reflect light. The Surface 1030 also includes a clip on wire manager for your mouse cord. The only feature lacking that I miss from my Razer eXactMat Gaming Mouse Pad is the gel wrist rest.
Func Industries Surface 1030 Archetype Mouse pad in Use
I really like gaming with the Surface 1030 pad. It offers the best feel and feedback to the mouse position when used with the rougher control side than any other pad I have used to date. The smoother side and the coarse side of the Surface 1030 really did not offer that much of a difference in speed to me, but the difference in feel and control was obvious during my games.
I think that even if you don't play games, the Func Surface 1030 is a great mouse pad that has excellent feel and accuracy. Design pros would love the Surface 1030 as much as the gamers. The Surface 1030 is also very easy to change from one surface to the other. The one issue I had was the mouse wire manager, it just did not work well for me.
