![]() Microsoft Reclusa Microsoft Suggested ReadingMicrosoft Reclusa Gaming KeyboardGuide Rating - ![]() The Bottom LineThe Microsoft Reclusa is a great compromise for someone who likes to game and someone who needs a good keyboard for typing. The Microsoft Reclusa is neither the best gaming keyboard, nor the best general use keyboard but does very well at combining the two functions. The only gamers who should stay away are those who like to use lots of long macros due to the eight keystroke limit. Pros

Description
Guide Review - Microsoft Reclusa Gaming KeyboardThe portion of the Microsoft Reclusa carrying Razer DNA is the hyperesponse gaming keys, which help reduce latency. The design and the other features of the keyboard are all Microsoft. The keyboard has a rounded, Microsoft look to it rather than the pointier and squared off designs from Razer. The backlighting is done well on the Microsoft Reclusa with a nice blue color and evenly lit keys. Some gamers my find the fact that you cant turn the backlights off or dim them to be an issue. Personally I didnt mind the fact that the backlight is on at all times. The keys of the Microsoft Reclusa have a nice feel to them, and remind me very much of the typing action on the Saitek Eclipse II. The keys are not overly clicky and loud, yet provide nice tactile feedback that touch typists should appreciate. The Razer software allows you to bind macros to five different keys on each side for a total of ten macros. Two of the macro keys on each side also have key tops that wrap around on the side of the Reclusa allowing you to activate them by pressing from above or from the side. You can bind one key as a shift function if you desire and extend your macro capacity further. However, all the macros are limited to eight keystrokes which might be an issue for some gamers. On each side of the keyboard is a dial knob that can also be bound to macros or specific applications. For added comfort there is also a removable wrist rest that is padded and helps comfort significantly during extended use. Suggested Reading |
