Guide Review - Logitech Alto Keyboard Review
Logitech has long made some fantastic keyboards and the newest notebook keyboard in the line is the Logitech Alto. The Altos most important feature is the integrated notebook elevator that goes a long way towards making the use of a notebook PC more ergonomic. The elevator lifts the screen of your notebook up to a much more comfortable height for daily use.
The keyboard portion of the Logitech Alto is a full sized keyboard complete with media control keys and a number pad. Around the base of the Alto are USB ports that allow you to plug in additional peripherals as well. While the USB hub can operate without power if you have peripherals that require more juice than the USB port can provide alone there is an optional AC adapter that is deigned both for use in the USA and Europe thanks to the dual plug and voltage design.
Connecting the Logitech Alto to your notebook is as easy as connecting a single USB cord. Typing feel is a little spongy, though the keys do produce a slight click. I would call this more a silent keyboard and touch typists may not like the feel the Alto provides. The entire keyboard and notebook elevator fold into a clamshell case with aluminum and plastic to protect the inside.
When folded the Logitech Alto is the exact same thickness as my Acer TravelMate 4404 WLMi notebook and about two inches longer. If you are a mobile pro that likes to keep all of your gear in one notebook bag or brief case the Logitech Alto is too big to fit into all but the largest bags.
