The Bottom Line

The Everglide DKTBoard is a good keyboard that really has nothing to set it apart from other keyboards on the market. Most gamers look for more in a gaming keyboard than simply saying the keyboard is for gamers, like extra buttons or displays for gaming related info. If you are looking for lots of programmable options, you will be better elsewhere. However, if you are a gamer looking for a small keyboard that has good tactile feedback and works well under the rigors of gaming the Everglide DKTBoard may be a good option for you.
Pros
  • Small size
  • Good backlighting
Cons
  • Strange layout for desktop keyboard

Description

  • Key layout is strange for a desktop keyboard.
  • Backlighting is attractive and works well.
  • The Everglide DKTBoard is a minimalist gamers dream.

Guide Review - Everglide DKTBoard Aluminum Gaming Keyboard

The Everglide DKTBoard is an attractive little keyboard that is available in either black or silver colors. The keyboard body surrounding the keys is made from aluminum and the key tops themselves are plastic as you would expect. The typing feel is good making working on the Everglide DKTBoard easy and comfortable. The keys are clicky and have good tactile feedback. The feel of the keys is spongier that the Logitech G15 I typically work on.

The Everglide DKTBoard is powered by Razer so it has the blue backlighting you expect to see on most Razer products. You can turn the backlighting off or on, there is no adjustment for dimming the lighting. The blue lighting is bright and evenly dispersed around the keyboard making for no dark spots or overly bright spots.

The layout of the keyboard is similar to a notebook keyboard. If you are used to a standard desktop layout the Everglide DKTBoard definitely takes some getting used to for ancillary keys. The main keys are laid out well though. The keyboard is small measuring in at about 402mm x 148mm x 24mm. Despite the small size it still packs in a full number pad as well. Eight media keys are located on the top of the keyboard for controlling your tunes and shortcut keys for mail and websites are included as well. The keyboard lacks a wrist rest, but the slim profile still makes typing on it comfortable for extended periods.

Gaming with the Everglide DKTBoard is good. I noticed no ghosting during my time with the Everglide DKTBoard and the compact sizes will make this keyboard very popular with LAN gamers who travel with their computers frequently.
