The default keypad is a standard QWERTY keyboard insert just like we are all used to typing with, thought it is customized to control Internet Explorer. A generic gaming keypad is included as well and optional game title specific limited edition keysets are available.

How Do the Gaming Keysets Work?

The true personality of the Zboard Gaming Keyboard is shown in the gaming keypads. Included with the Zboard Gaming Keyboard in addition to the standard keypad is a generic gaming keypad. The gaming keypad has a streamlined set up on the left side so your fingers are always on the controls you need. The generic keypad places the important controls for jumping, crouching, inventory and more close by the directional controls so you never have to remove your hand from the mouse during play. The Zboard Gaming Keyboard even has a built-in two port USB hub so you can connect your gamepad without crawling behind your desk.

As good as the generic gaming keyset of the Zboard Gaming Keyboard is, the limited edition game title specific sets are better. I used the Doom 3 specific keyset quite a bit. Not only does the Doom 3 Keyset have great art work from the game in the form of durable plastic overlays, but it further customizes the controls for the game. Rather than wildly rotating your mouse wheel to find the right weapon or trying to recall what number you assigned to your plasma rifle, you simply hit the button marked conspicuously enough, plasma rifle.
