Definition: DPI stands for “dots per inch,” and it is how mice measure their tracking ability. Mice with higher DPI are able to register more “dots” (or points) in a single area than those with a lower DPI. The higher DPI mice can be more sensitive than those with lower DPI, but it’s very common for many users to not notice a difference. Everyday mice users do not require high DPIs and can sometimes even find the added sensitivity to be annoying.
