While the Saitek X52 Flight Control System does not have as many programming options as the CH Products FighterStick USB and CH Products Pro Throttle USB the Saitek X52 Flight Control System is likely a better choice for all but the most hardcore flight sim players thanks to its significantly lower price. Features of the Saitek X52 Flight Control SystemThe Saitek X52 Flight Control System has a wealth of cool features to make it a great flight control system for intermediate to advanced flight sim aficionados. One of the most obvious features of the Saitek X52 Flight Control System is the large multi-function LCD display on he base of the throttle control.LCD Display The LCD display is also illuminated as are the buttons for ease of use in low light environments. The LCD display gives you information on the status of the Saitek X52 Flight Control System such as the profile you are using and the current mode you are in and the time and date. Throttle The throttle of the Saitek X52 Flight Control System is one of the best around. The throttle features progressive tension with detents for both idle and afterburner and smooth sliding action. The Saitek X52 Flight Control System throttle also has two fire buttons, a mouse controller/hat switch with left mouse button, 8-way hat switch and two rotary controls. The Saitek X52 Flight Control System throttle also has a clutch button that allows you to switch modes during your flight. When pressed the clutch automatically places the throttle into safe mode, allowing you to verify button function without initiating the button. Joystick The Saitek X52 Flight Control System joystick is one of the most adjustable joysticks you will find on the market. The X-52 joystick adjusts through five different handle positions to suit different size hands. The Saitek X52 Flight Control System joystick has a great centering mechanism that uses non-contact technology for long life and durability. The joystick has a two stage metal trigger, four fire buttons including a missile launcher with a flip up cover, pinkie shift button, two 8-way hat switches and two rotary controls. The handle of the Saitek X52 Flight Control System joystick also rotates for rudder control. Included Software The Saitek X52 Flight Control System includes Saitek's advanced programming software called Saitek Smart Technology software. The SST software allows you to program the Saitek X52 Flight Control System to suit your style for each game. Saitek X52 Flight Control System in UseProgramming the Saitek X52 Flight Control System takes controls thought to ensure all your controls are well laid out. The safety mode function that allows you to check a buttons function without having to activate the function is very welcome. The Saitek X52 Flight Control System stick and throttle both feel great in the hand and are comfortable for extended gaming. The X-52 joystick is adjustable to five different positions to suit different users needs. The large LCD and backlit buttons are very easy to read and use no matter the lighting in the room you are playing. The three modes of the Saitek X52 Flight Control System allow you to assign up to three different functions to each button and switch on the X-52. The Saitek X52 Flight Control System has so many function options, that I did not have to take my hands off the stick or throttle at all when playing flight games. |
