You will not find an easier to adjust monitor stand on a LCD display. While my Eizo display has the same adjustability save the ability to do portrait orientation, the Gateway adds ease of adjustment to the mix. One hand is all that is needed to adjust the Gateway LCD up and down, where as the Eizo takes two hands and some effort to adjust. The Gateway won't lay flat like the Eizo however. The ability to adjust the display left and right is right on and as good as the same adjustment on the Eizo.
What the Eizo lacks that the Gateway has is the HDCP connector and the HDTV and S-Video inputs. The Gateway also has twice the amount of USB ports as compared to the Eizo CE240W.
Final Thoughts on the Gateway FPD2185W 21" LCD Display
If I was spending the money on a display and could do with minimal reduction in image quality to save around $600 on my LCD display purchase, the Gateway 21" LCD is a no brainer. If you are a design pro, go with the Eizo hands down. If you are an every day computer user and gamer, the Gateway 21" LCD is superb and gamers could get a top of the line graphics card for their PC for the difference in the cost between teh Gateway and the Eizo, like the ATI X1900 XTX. While there is no doubt that the Eizo CE240W is a better display in most instances, the Gateway's MSRP coming in at roughly half the cost of the Eizo with 90% of the Eizo's performance can't be denied. Simply a superb monitor for gaming, movie watching or just surfing the web.
