Definition: USB is the acronyn for Universal Serial Bus. USB ports are a way for external devices to communicate with your computer. Devices such as digital cameras, PDAs, printers and more use USB connections. USB ports are designed with a maximum data transfer rate of 480 Mb/s (megabytes per second). Full speed USB devices communicate at 12 Mb/s and low speed devices run at 1.5 Mb/s. There is also a wireless USB protocol.
