The Bottom Line

The Razer Piranha Communicator Headphones are certainly not uncomfortable to wear for extended sessions, but the ear cups are an odd size a bit larger than typical on ear headphones and a bit too small for around the ear headphones. The sound quality is great and the mic works well. Gamers looking for a headset without all the bells and whistles of surround sound headphones will like the Razer Piranha Communicator Headphones.
Pros
  • Good sound quality
  • Super long cord
Cons
  • Ear cups an odd size

Description

  • Extra long cord made connecting the headphones easy.
  • Adjustable mic can be muted.
  • The ear cups could be sized better, but the headphones are comfortable overall.

Guide Review - Razer Piranha Communicator Headphones Review

One of the best things about the Razer Piranha Communicator Headphones is the very long cord. This allows you to easily reach your computer to connect the headphones even if it’s a long way from where you sit. Sound quality from the Razer Piranha Communicator Headphones is also top notch.

The headphones offer deep and generous bass, along with sharp highs and mid range sounds. The bass never overwhelms voice tracks and the Razer Piranha Communicator Headphones are simply one of the best sounding headphones I have used.

The mic is adjustable and uses noise-filtering technology to keep room sounds from being picked up. I found the mic worked very well for VOIP while gaming or Skype calls. The long cable is covered in a braided material for durability and controls for volume and mic mute are inline and easy to reach. The headphones are compatible with any device using a 3.5mm mini jack as well.

It’s hard to find anything not to like with these headphones, but the ear cups could be sized better. The cups were too big for on the ear use and too small for around the ear use. I felt like I had them positioned wrong. They were comfortable to wear for extended gaming, but it took a while to get used to the size of the ear cups.
