Installing a CD/DVD Drive

The next step is to connect the power and IDE cables to the back of your CD or DVD drive. The power cable and the IDE cable are both keyed. This means that there is only one way to install the cables due to the way they are shaped. You can't install these cables wrong thanks to the keyed design.
