Price
The M705 has an MSRP of $49.99, but it’s currently on sale at Logitech’s site for $39.99. You can almost always find a gadget that’s less than its MSRP somewhere on the web.
Scrolling
It features Logitech's Hyper-fast scrolling technology, which lets you whiz through Excel spreadsheets or extremely lengthy websites. Logitech’s Anywhere MX Mouse also has this detail, and it was reviewed very favorably by this site. (You can read the review for the Anywhere MX Mouse here.)
USB Receiver
Thankfully for wireless mice, the size of the typical USB receiver has shrunk down to a size that isn’t just begging to get broken off in your laptop USB port. The M705’s nano receiver is designed to be left inside the port even when the laptop is packed away.
The M705’s receiver comes with Logitech's Unifying Technology, meant to let you to pair up to six other devices with Unifying tech.
Tracking
Like the M525, the M705 has the Logitech’s Laser-Grade Tracking Technology, which is related to its Darkfield Laser Tracking. The Laser-Grade Tracking Technology is designed to let you use a mouse on nearly any surface, including marble tiles and other glossy surfaces. Darkfield-capable mice take this even further by letting you track on clear glass. The M705 has the Laser-Grade Tracking tech, but not Darkfield, so it can be used on glossy surfaces that don't include glass.
Battery Life
The M705 operates with two AA batteries, and Logitech says that the life will last up to three years. As with the M525, there are a few caveats to this claim. These include how you use your mouse, how often your use it, what kind of batteries you use, and what kind of surface you use it on. It’s also recommended that you use the on/off switch when the mouse isn’t being used.
Colors
Only one color is available: black.
Takeaway
The M705 has some great Logitech-specific features, such as the crazy-long battery life pledge and Hyper-fast scrolling. The mouse also comes with thumb buttons, a nice addition. Its only downfall is that lefties need not apply.
