Accessories Turn Asus' "Eee Box" PC into a Media Center
The "Eee Box," is Asus' desktop answer to their popular Eee PC notebook series of light, simple, highly portable laptop computers. It's a neat little box, but unlike the Eee PC notebook, the benefits of a simplistic, scaled-down desktop computer are far less obvious.
In an effort to quell the murmurs of "what do we use this thing for?" questions among consumers, Asus has released a fancy accessory set designed primarily to turn the Eee Box into a media center PC. The semi-portable mouse and keyboard, complete with remote control, lend themselves obviously to setting up the Eee Box to go on an entertainment center shelf, letting you watch movies, YouTube videos, whatever you like, on your fancy flat screen.
Even if low-powered and low-storage, the Eee PC is definitely a cost-effective answer to higher-end dedicated media PCs which can cost several times as much. If you're looking for a last-minute holiday gift, the Eee Box is suddenly a lot more appealing.
